Royal Academy of Dance
Registered with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) the world’s largest ballet organisation, our studio follows the Academy's syllabus and has a strong emphasis on fostering the love of dance. Annually your child will be given the opportunity to complete their respected examination.
The Royal Academy of Dance is the largest examining and teacher education organisation for classical ballet in the world. With over 17,000 members, its influence has spread to over 84 countries and it has a network of international offices and representatives. Each year more than 250,000 students are taught the Academy’s examination syllabi.
The RAD offers an internationally recognised portfolio of examinations and assessments designed to encourage, motivate and reward students of all ages and abilities, outlining a progressive structure for learning and achievement.
RAD Examinations are offered to all students attending the desired number of classes per week. We believe it is important for our students to have the opportunity to set an attainable goal to work towards and are encouraged by the Institute staff, however examinations are not compulsory.

On our faculty we have a Royal Academy of Dance Registered Teacher, Mentor and Practical Teaching Supervisor for trainee teachers of the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies. Our faculty do tens of hours of Continuing Professional Development to ensure they are abreast with providing the finest and most up to date training.
The Royal Academy of Dance offer an immense amount of opportunities to young dancers. Students of Institute of Dance have been put forward to competitions such as the Geneé Challenge, Isobel Anderson Awards as well as the Joan and Monica Halliday Awards. We are proud to be able to offer our students the highest level of training and affiliated with an organisation that prides itself on providing safe and affecting training for the next generation of dancers.
